About the Game

Built by players who were tired of bloated shooters

Neonbreak started as a mod. Three seasons later, it's still trying to be the shooter its founders wanted to play.

Neonbreak began in 2022 as a total-conversion mod built by four friends who thought every arena shooter on the market had gotten too slow, too bloated, or too dependent on a battle pass grind to feel fun. The mod got popular enough on its own that a small studio formed around it.

The design rule that hasn't changed since day one: if a feature doesn't make movement or gunplay better, it doesn't ship. That's why there's no loadout menu with forty perks, no season-long grind gating weapons, and no mechanic that rewards sitting still.

We're not the biggest shooter on the market, and we're fine with that. Every map, every weapon, and every balance patch is built by people who still queue into ranked themselves every night.

What we won't do

Three rules that haven't moved since 2022

No pay-to-win

Every weapon and ability is earned through play. The store sells looks, not power.

No dead time

Matches are built to keep you moving — no long respawn timers, no waiting rooms.

No silent nerfs

Every balance change ships with full patch notes explaining exactly why.
